Construction Supervision of the Improvement of National Road No. 12 Section Thakhek – Na Phao Project

Project Overview
The association between Asian Engineering Consultants Corp. Ltd. (AEC) and LCG, is providing construction supervision for the 147 km upgrade of National Road No. 12 in Khammouane Province to Asian Highway standards.
Financed by the Royal Thai Government through National Economic and Development Agency (NEDA), this landmark infrastructure project strengthens one of the region’s most strategic trade corridors, connecting Thailand, Lao PDR, Vietnam, and southern China.
LCG’s Role
The supervision team ensures quality, safety, and timely delivery across two major construction packages, covering:
- Upgrading and widening of 147 km of national highway
- Construction of key bypass sections to improve traffic flow
- Development of a modern rest area at Gnommalath district
- Rehabilitation and modernization of border facilities, including: Customs Office, Immigration Office, Inspection & Control Building, Residential facilities, Landscaping and parking areas
Impact
This project significantly enhances cross-border trade efficiency, reduces travel time, and improves logistics reliability along the East–West economic corridor. By upgrading critical transport infrastructure to international standards, Lao PDR strengthens its position as a vital gateway linking regional markets.
